Grow Up!

I was browsing through the Star online when I came across this article.

Malaysian transsexual Mohammad Fazdil/Fatine married Ian Young in a civil partnership in UK. Due to immigration problems, she may face deportation back to Malaysia. The article mentions how she's facing hostility towards her union with Young.

I saw a Facebook comment directing people to the FB page of the couple & encouraging people to make comments. Fatine said her family has disowned her, yet they're facing scrutiny back home.

My opinion?

GROW UP! I get it that homosexuality/sex change are unacceptable in Islam but give them a break!

1. They aren't asking everyone to change their sex
2. They weren't insulting the religion
3. They are together for love
4. They aren't harming anyone

Are these reasons to act like a freaking baboon?

It IRRITATES me to see comments like "I want to Clorox my eyes after seeing their wedding photos". What's your effing problem? Why can't people leave others alone? No one made you a freaking apostle!

Religion is a promise between the individual & the faith/God. There's no mention in that promise to be subjected to discrimination & threats by other people who are also subjected to the same faith/God.

Would God want you to threaten Fatine? Would God applaud your efforts to send hate mail? Will you get more bonus points for it?

Is it SO hard to mind your own business? I see these threats as an direct insult to the right of an individual to pursue happiness. I'd be severely pissed off if you zealots start trying to control MY LIFE & MY RIGHTS to happiness.

Cheers to the happy couple!

Crap. If Malaysians can't show MATURITY to accept other people's differences then FORGET about being a developed nation when they can't be sensitive to other people's feelings.

Wait a minute. I'm talking about Malaysians. We still don't see each other as Malaysians yet, but rather as Malays, Indians, & Chinese.

Shame. I've had it with people demanding to control the lives of others.

I'm not a religious person but the way I see it, God will judge Fatine when the time comes.

YOU ARE NOT GOD.

GET OVER IT.

To Fatine & Young, I wish you both the best of luck. Looks like a bunch of nosey people are out to bug you.

i believe some Malaysian are being too racist n religious which totally blinded their FAIR judgment..

Have they gone mad?? the couples are HUMAN NOT ANIMAL..

What this fatine need the most is the counseling/treatment so that he/she could regain his conciousness to become male again...that's it, it's not her/his fault after all...
GID caused this problem

Malaysian has limited capacity when it comes to knowledge, which lead them ONLY TO INSULT THEM

in this case, most of muslim agreed that transsexualism is forbidden but people don't have right to judge n give such WORST comments

LET GOD PLAY THE PART TO JUDGE....
WE AS HUMAN TAKE IT AS THE LESSON & WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO INSULT THEM
IF YOU ONE OF THEM, YOU WILL KNOW HOW THEY FEEL TOO

@armouris: Thank you for that link. I understand what transsexuals are. It's just a shame that people want to BULLY them & JUDGE them for trying to be WHO THEY ARE.

@Jaray: Yeah, don't you think?

@aMMerZ: I understand that transsexuality is forbidden in Islam but we cannot deny that they EXIST. They deserve protection. Read this article http://thestar.com.my/columnists/story.asp?file=/2009/12/6/columnists/sharingthenation/5241565&sec=Sharing%20The%20Nation for a clear picture on the REAL scenario in Malaysia. If Iran can allow these people recognition & a chance to LIVE IN PEACE & SAFETY, why can't WE??

I'm ashamed that Malaysia, who always claim to be a champion of human rights, can allow such horrible things to happen. Then again we've the ISA & OSA, so we don't really have a good track record.

I welcome discussion but I will delete comments which are anti-transsexuality so you know where I stand on this issue. I won't tolerate such comments on my blog. Thanks

Here is also another good refferences for this kind of matter.

@Radin: From your link-
"LGBT rights are absent in Malaysia. Malaysia stands under heavy influence of Islam and homosexuality is technically illegal. LGBT Malaysians are often seen as immoral and treated as deviants and criminals. There is a national gay organization in this country, which receives little support. However, in practice more affluent Malaysian society is more tolerant of homosexuality than neighboring Indonesia, where it is not illegal.

As homosexuality is a crime, Malaysia does not recognize same-sex unions or have anti-discrimination laws for sexual orientation or gender identity."

This is wrong & backward for our nation. We cannot ignore that they are Malaysians too. What we're practicing by these laws is DISCRIMINATION.

This is not a Malaysia I want.
